Closure?

Stephen Lucas

If I bled I still loved you,
Would you believe me?

I have no other question,
No other concern,
I don’t need to know if you care
About me
Anymore.

But,

Would you take time to look in my eyes,
Venture beyond lies,
Broken ties,
And try?

Could you journey passed whys of winter,
Barren and cold,
Windy and dry,
And see me,
Today,
Standing here,
On a freakishly summer-like May day
Saying - bleeding
I love you?

Could you hear those words
Spoken
From my lips?

Could you feel me?

See my truth?

Would you believe me?

Henry, this is a beautiful and depthful poem, full of questioning. I hope there are answers.

Intense, powerful poetry, Henry. Are these cubist-like paintings yours? Wonderful art! Lots of talent on your blog.

Soft and intense.

Love your poem. Poems that William Shatner can recite and make you feel and hang on every word is so satifying for me..

whoosh, yes.
and i'd like to hear shatner read this, too.
or you, you could read it and i would listen...

Bleeding from your pen, these words you write are fantastic! Real, felt, emotion, intelaced with wonderful, slighty dark (to this readers mind, fair warning!) imagery. Much enjoyed my visit! :)

To me...that tree looks kind of scary...just saying!

Thanks for sharing a beautiful poem all the same.

Very intense, I never thought of bleeding as a form of communication, but it's true, very true.

I'm Just a Man (Recording Experiment ... I can't sing)

I am in the mood to change my tree to a cubic version.
